Please note that the Executive Committee of the MLASA shall consider your application for membership to the MLASA and will confirm in writing whether your application has been successful.

The annual membership subscription for 2025 is R1,500.00 for members over the age of 30 and R600.00 for members under the age of 30. Applicants will be registered as members upon payment of the subscription into the MLASA’s bank account:

CONSENT TO COLLECTION AND PROCESSING OF PERSONAL INFORMATION BY MARITIME LAW ASSOCIATION

I, the undersigned, hereby:

  1. acknowledge that the Maritime Law Association of South Africa (MLA), represented by its Executive Committee, will collect my personal information, including but not limited to name(s), identity number(s) or registration number(s), birth date(s), email address(es), physical address(es), postal address(es), and telephone number(s) (the Personal Information);
  2. acknowledge that MLA will use the Personal Information only for:
    1. conducting the business of the MLA, being that of an organisation formed to address issues pertaining to the maritime sector and the legislation which governs it; and
    2. purposes reasonably related and ancillary thereto, (the Described Uses);
  3. consent to MLA processing and further processing the Personal Information, including but not limited to collecting, recording, organising disseminating, and making the Personal Information available, for the Described Uses;
  4. consent to MLA collecting the Personal Information directly from me and from any other source; and
  5. consent to MLA retaining records of the Personal Information for so long as MLA deems it necessary in its sole discretion.
